The Iran Music Project recognizes the use of music as a conduit for political and ideological expression to those with silenced voices. It is a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about Iran post-revolution through analyzing popular Iranian music.

After months of research, interviews, and editing, I am proud to present my new documentary film "Hope Is a Song: A Musical Journey Through Iran's Struggle and Spirit"! The hour long film is available free on Youtube and explores the history and tradition of music in Iran and how Iranians are using music today to express their protest. The film begins with examining traditional Persian music and I travel to Egypt where we explore the role of music in the ancient Middle East.
